King George held its’ annual Christmas Tree Lighting on December 3rd. A new healthy tree planted this year is not ready for decoration but is lovely just the same. This years’ entertainment included a wonderful performance by the Sealston Elementary School Chorus. The Mars Hill Band, a local group of teen musicians, was excellent and played upbeat Christmas music. The Studio gave an energetic dance number that the audience appreciated, and the King George High School Brass Ensemble was great.
Thank you to the King George General Properties for the “Light” tree and other decorations that made the evening glow. The festivities included hot chocolate provided by Exit Realty Expertise, the smores were provided by Lifepoint Church. The firepits were tended by Jim Howard. Santa was there to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and talk to all the kids, young and old, thanks to the King George Historical Society. Thanks to the Bowden family for the hay wagon rides down Rectory Lane. Thanks to the neighborhood for the decorations that made the ride cheery and festive. And finally, thanks to King George Parks & Recreation for coordinating this free family friendly event.
